Dutch June-Aug. Jobless Rate Rises

Thursday, the Netherlands' Central Bureau of Statistics announced that the jobless rate stood at 5% in the June to August period, up from 4.9% in the May to July period. The jobless rate came in line with economists' expectations. A year ago, the jobless rate was 3.8% in the corresponding period.

The number of unemployed persons totaled 390,000 in the June to August period, larger than the 386,000 persons in the previous three months.
