Tuesday, the Statistics Denmark announced that the total trade surplus stood at DKK 5.5 billion in July, up from DKK 5.3 billion surplus in the previous month. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the trade surplus widened to DKK 4.8 billion from DKK 4.4 billion in June.
Exports rose 3% month-on-month to DKK 42.1 billion in July, while imports increased 2.3% to DKK 37.3 billion.
On an annual basis, exports decreased 16% in July, while imports dropped 19.8%.
The trade surplus, excluding ships, etc..amounted to DKK 4.9 billion in July, down from DKK 5.3 billion surplus in June. Exports dropped 17.1% annually in July, while imports fell 20%. On a monthly basis, exports and imports increased by 1.5% and 2.7%, respectively.
Separately, the statistical office said, the current account surplus stood at DKK 4.93 billion in July, widening from DKK 4.83 billion in June. The current account surplus was DKK 4.82 billion a year ago.
