Czech Industrial Production Falls More Than Expected In July

Czech industrial production decreased 18.4% year-on-year in July, a preliminary report from the Czech statistical office showed Friday. Economists had forecast a 16% fall in production.

Sales from industrial activity decreased 19.9% at current prices and those from direct export sales fell by 20.1%.

The industrial new orders value dropped 22.7%, of which non-domestic orders were down 22.8%.

Registered employment in enterprises with 50 or more employees decreased 13% and the average wage in these enterprises grew 2.4%.

Total industrial production fell 16.4% year-on-year when adjusted for the number of working days.
