Friday, the Czech National Bank report showed that the current account deficit narrowed to CZK 3.05 billion in July from CZK 18.79 billion in June. The expected deficit for July was CZK 3 billion.
The central bank said the deficit was affected by the deficit in income account, which reflected dividend payments of CZK 12.6 billion and estimated reinvested earnings of CZK 8.7 billion. The surplus on trade in goods was CZK 14.4 billion and than in services account totaled CZK 3.48 billion.
The capital account surplus stood at CZK 4.96 billion in July, after recording a deficit of CZK 325.1 million in June.
