Tuesday, the Bank of France said its business sentiment indicator for the country's industrial sector rose to 89 in August from 87 in July.
The central bank said industrial activities remained generally stable in August compared to July. Capacity utilization remained very low. Orders books continued to recover. The bank expects activities to stabilize in the short-term.
The confidence indicator for the services sector inched up to 82 in August from 81 in July, reflecting an improvement in the areas of consulting and advertising.
The central bank said its monthly business indicators suggest that French gross domestic product or GDP would rise 0.3% in the third quarter, revised from its previous estimate of a zero growth.
