Tuesday, the Statistics Sweden announced that the producer price index or PPI rose 1.1% year-over-year in June, slower than the 2.9% growth in the preceding month. Economists had expected an increase of 2%.
Month-on-month, producer prices declined 0.8% in June, after falling 0.5% in May. Economists were looking for an increase of 0.1%.
Meanwhile, the export price index increased 3.1% annually in June, slower than a 5.7% rise in the previous month. Import prices were down 3.2% compared to a 0.3% fall in May. On a monthly basis, export prices fell 1.6% after declining 0.3% in May, while import prices dropped 1.4%, in contrast to a 0.3% increase in the preceding month.
