Sweden July Consumer Prices Decline Further

Tuesday, the Statistics Sweden said in a report that the consumer price index or CPI dropped 0.9% year-over-year in July, compared with a 0.6% fall in the previous month. Economists were looking for a decline of 0.1%.

On a monthly basis, the CPI decreased 0.5% in July, after rising 0.2% in June. Economists had expected a decline of 0.6%.

The CPIX increased 1.3% annually in July and it was down 0.3% compared to the previous month.

Meanwhile, the harmonized index of consumer prices or HICP rose 1.8% on an annual basis in July, and the HICP was down 0.2% compared to the preceding month.
