Slovak Retail Sales Decrease In June

Tuesday, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic said the retail trade turnover at constant prices dropped 11.3% year-over-year in June, after falling 12.3% in May.

At the same time, the wholesale trade turnover at current prices declined 29.5%, compared to the 30.2% fall in May.

Turnover in accommodation fell 27.7% at constant prices, while the turnover in restaurants and beverage service activities decreased 32.8%. Turnover in sale and repair of motorcycles and motor vehicles fell 5.9%.

For the first six months of the year, the retail trade turnover declined 11.1% at constant prices compared to the same period of the previous year. During the period, wholesale trade decreased 27.5%.
