Romania Industrial Turnover, New Orders Increase In June

Wednesday, Romania's National Institute of Statistics announced that the industrial turnover in nominal terms increased 7.4% month-on-month in June, faster than the 4.9% growth in the previous month.

Meanwhile, manufacturing turnover rose 7.6%, and turnover in quarrying industry grew 2.3%.

On an annual basis, industrial turnover decreased 16.6% in June, after falling 19.2% in May.

For the first six months of the year, industrial turnover decreased 17.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Separately, the statistical office said the industrial new orders increased in nominal terms 4.9% on a monthly basis in June and it was down 16.2% compared to the previous year. For the first half of the year, new orders decreased 21.1% over a year ago.
