Poland Consumer Price Inflation Rises In July

Thursday, Poland's Central Statistical Office announced that the consumer price index or CPI rose 3.6% year-over-year in July , faster than the 3.5% increase in the previous month. Economist's were looking for an increase of 3.4%.

Prices for food, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, tobacco grew 5.5% annually in July, while clothing and footwear prices dropped 8.1%. Transport charges were down 1.8%

On a monthly basis, the CPI increased 0.1% in July, compared to the 0.2% growth in the preceding month.

For the January to July period, the CPI climbed 3.5% compared to the same period of the previous year.
