The number of new job opportunities within London's financial services sector dropped 7% in July from the prior month, the recruitment firm Morgan McKinley said Tuesday. But the number was still the second biggest recorded this year.
Further, the report showed that there was a 9% increase in the number of individuals who began their search for a new role in July compared with June.
At the same time, average salaries paid to financial sector employees increased 6% on a monthly basis to GBP 53,223 in July. This was 1% lower than a year ago level, the firm said in its London Employment Monitor.
Andrew Evans, Managing Director of Morgan McKinley's financial services division said, "Hiring managers are looking for candidates who have multiple skill sets and who are the star performers in their field and they are offering these individuals competitive salaries to secure them."
