Italian July Consumer Sentiment Highest Since November 2007

Italy's consumer confidence in July rose to the highest level since November 2007, results of the latest consumer confidence survey conducted by an economic think thank showed Tuesday.

The consumer confidence indicator rose to 107.5 in July from 105.4 in June, ISAE said, above the expected reading of 105.8.

The most significant increase was seen in households' general economic assessment. The corresponding indicator improved to 85.4 in July from 81.1 in the previous month and reached its highest level since December 2007.

Moreover, the economic expectations index climbed to 99.4 in July from 97.7 in June, while the current situation index logged 113.4, up from 113.
