Ireland Retail Sales Increase In June

Thursday, Ireland's Central Statistical Office announced that the retail sales volume rose 2.2% month-on-month in June, faster than the 1.2% growth in the previous month. A year earlier, retail sales were down 3%.

Year-on-year, retail sales volume plunged 9.9% in June, after falling 14.5% in May, revised from 15.4% fall estimated initially.

In June, retail sales volume excluding , motor trades decreased 5.5% on an annual basis, and rose 2% compared to the preceding month.

Meanwhile, retail sales value increased 1.2% on a monthly basis in June, after falling 0.6% in May. Retail sales value dropped 15.1% from last year.
