Hong Kong GDP Rises In Q2

Friday, the Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department said in a preliminary report that the gross domestic product or GDP in real terms rose a seasonally adjusted 3.3% sequentially in the second quarter, compared with a 4.3% fall in the previous quarter.

This was the first growth in GDP after falling last four consecutive quarters, the statistical office said.

On an annual basis, the GDP declined 3.8% in the second quarter compared with 7.8% drop in the previous quarter. Economists had predicted a decline of 5.3%.
