Estonia June Trade Deficit Widens

Monday, the Statistics Estonia said in a preliminary report that the trade deficit stood at EEK 0.7 billion in June, widening from a deficit of EEK 0.5 billion in the previous month.

The statistical office said the trade deficit was five times lower than that in June last year.

In June, total exports dropped 13% annually to EEK 9.4 billion, while total imports fell 29% to EEK 10.1 billion. On a monthly basis, exports and imports increased by 17% and 19%, respectively.

In the second quarter, exports decreased 28% annually to EEK 25.1 billion, while imports fell 37% to EEK 28 billion.
